A House Guest
Last weekend I was disgustingly busy. It was sort of upsetting, actually.
Friday night T and I went out to Monty's, recently appearing in the movie Marley & Me. I'm JUST saying I breathed some of the same air Eric Dane breathed. Or touched the table where he sat. Or something. The point is, Eric Dane, McSteamy himself, was there and I was too. Nice!
Early Saturday morning, I went to school to proctor the entrance exam because I need some extra money. I ain't above $50, let's be honest. From there, I went to Ali and Bree-Ana's house for a belated Australia Day party, orchestrated by the Aussie herself. We were supposed to dress up as our favorite Aussie and I could think of no one else but Bree-Ana. So I bought some fake hair (SICK) and put on an ILS Drama Club T-shirt, and voila! I was Bree-Ana. I mean, check it out. We're practically indistinguishable!
We also learned about playing cricket. I learned about the "wickey" and being "in the crease." It was all very educational. And batting with a cricket bat is sort of... awkward. It's kinda more like scooping than batting.
We also feasted on Aussie treats like Vegemite sandwiches (surprisingly tolerable after one or two), Anzac biscuits (coconut cookies of joy), Lamingtons (some sort of delicious cake with more coconut), and Tim Tams, the joy of life. Oh, how I miss Tim Tams...
After the party I headed to church for choir rehearsal, and finally home to relax. I got season two of The Tudors in the mail about two weeks ago, and still haven't been able to even pop in one disc, but instead of watching that, I had to get in my last viewing of Love Actually before I put it away until next November. Sadly, I couldn't finish it because I fell asleep. I am officially LAME. Whatever.
Sunday I had church to volunteer, then cleaning my house and other random crap, then back to church for choir call and service. Service was early because of the Superbowl, and they had a Superbowl party afterward. I stayed for a tiny bit, but then headed home to watch the Superbowl in my pjs with my neighbor and his HD projector TV. I graded papers, watched commercials, and talked to Adam's dad. It was all very exciting.
We also had a house guest this past weekend, and even now he's wandering around. He and Lancelot stare at each other now, which is a good deal better than they were doing. Anyway, his name's Rico and, even though he's micro-chipped, his owner is no where to be found. Nice. But he's a cutie, and he's been through some trauma (he's got two huge gashes from a dog attack) so we deal with him. Word on the street is he's getting adopted soon.
Oh. I also dyed my hair on Sunday. It's purple now. Well, not NOW, 'cause it's already faded to a weird blue, but in theory, it's purple. So yeah.
Tomorrow night I have to chaperone Winter Formal, which sucks. But the cool thing is the hotel gave ILS a free room, which I'm taking, AND it's totally pet-friendly! I'm really excited!
In other exciting news, April 7th I'm going to see Flight of the Conchords, and April 30th my dreams are coming true and I'm going to see Ray LaMontagne!!!! I probably can't afford either show in good conscience, but I can't resist. I've wanted to see Ray for three years or so now, and FotC is just awesome. Wooty woo!
Catch y'all on the flip side.
Much love.
